Broiled Grapefruit Halves
BROILED GRAPEFRUIT HALVES
1 grapefruit, cut widthwise
2 tsp extra virgin coconut oil
2 tsp coconut sugar (sub for monk fruit sweetener or stevia, alter amount)
Set oven to broil on high. Cut grapefruit in half, then use a knife to slice each segment individually so that it will be easy to eat once cooked. Add a dollop of coconut oil to each half. Add coconut sugar if desired.
Arrange on a baking tray citrus side up. Place it in the oven on a high rack.
Cook for 6-8 minutes, checking occasionally. Grapefruit is done with the sides are charred just slightly.
